Maybe we should start with what we’ve learned up to now:

The entire journey of CHR has been a discovery of magic – the magic of the human experience – and how we can capture it with intentional reflection and pursuit of the greatest good.

That might sound woo-y

…and maybe it is, but we’ve noticed along the way that we can get lost in a lot of the “business” if we don’t invest in the human side of life – and at the end of the day, that’s what really matters.

We started with a passion for uncommon excellence and have never waivered, arriving instead at an understanding that what we do is so much greater and more beautiful than just selling homes.  

We are living and evolving our stories every day, and part of the story for people at CHR is remembering the ripple effect we get to have in everything we do.

ALMOST 20 years of business

STARTED IN 2005 WITH A SNEAKY SUSPICION.


When Matt and Barrie Hudson started CHR, they trusted a calling, a notion that their knowledge, passion, playfulness and experience was meant to be applied in a larger way.

After years as a top producing agent, Matt rapidly grew CHR from his small team to over 100 agents. The goal was never to become the BIGGEST brokerage – CHR’s calling is an environment of the most intentional and curated team of professionals who stand for the highest levels of client service.  The number of agents at CHR has been capped on purpose to preserve that mission.

A different kind of agency

From his personal selling experiences to ownership of other businesses and from analysis of the industry and other agencies to observations of broken corporate culture and a profit-only focus in America, Matt knew the real estate industry and the professionals within it needed to change.  Ineffective marketing, disassociated leadership, and an absence of community and dedicated support plagued agencies.  Poor client service and marginal value, lack of mastery, and zero personal accountability were far too typical of the average agent.  

CHR was created with the specific goal of filling those gaps, creating an environment of excellence that drove world-class agent experiences, grounded in the philosophy of consumer value and agent mastery.  The hope and dream was to be an agent of inspiration and change for the real estate industry at large.

Remarkable People

While vision, philosophy, passion, courage and work ethic drove the early days of CHR, what lifted it to be an industry leader was its exceptional people.  When an idea is strong enough, it creates its own gravity and attracts those who are meant to be its steward.  CHR stood for something remarkable that the right people wanted to be part of.  It is those people who run the day-to-day operations, innovate and drive excellence, sell homes with tremendous care, and sweat every detail.  

The idea of CHR is special, but it’s the application of that special idea in everything we do carried out by remarkable people that truly makes a difference.

What’s next?

In more recent years, our excitement for the real estate market has grown almost exponentially. Currently, the industry is facing many changes and exceptional challenges which are fueling our ambition to radically transform what the industry offers as a standard of service.

Our focus is only becoming sharper as we evolve into the next version of CHR and the expectation to do something bold is being demanded of us.

When transformative moments call, we either rise or shy away.  With great humility, we choose to rise.

We could spend all day talking about ourselves, but truly it’s about what others – agents & clients collectively – say.

I had the opportunity to work alongside our CHR agent on a recent purchase. He was an excellent communicator and true professional. Often in this industry, agents become just as emotionally influenced during the process as their clients should be. However, this typically negatively impacts the transaction. Fortunately, our agent was able to help us through a bad previous experience and not have it influence our transaction.
