A native of Minnesota, Jim came to Colorado in 1981 to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder. After a start in property management, Jim began his real estate career in 1999. He has earned both the GRI and CRS designations, the highest professional designation awarded to REALTORS® in the residential sales field.
Jim brought his diverse real estate background and special familiarity with the Littleton/Bow Mar areas to Colorado Home Realty in December 2010. Buyers wishing to maximize value will benefit from his experience with more than 100 “fix and flips” in the Denver Metro area. His ability to identify priority upgrades and estimate realistic costs help lead to added value.
“I love the smell of sawdust in the morning!” says Jim.
Because of his proficiency with tools and especially a paintbrush, he will frequently roll up his sleeves to help his clients with projects.
He also enjoys helping clients define the often hard-to-articulate emotional aspect of buying or selling a home.
Jim surrounds himself with seasoned professionals to improve every aspect of the real estate experience. His clients enjoy referrals to his trusted, battle-tested list of vendors (from mortgage professionals to painters) that make every transaction seamless from start to finish.
When not focused on the specific needs and wants of his clients, Jim enjoys making his way down the ski slopes or around the golf course with friends and family.
He also enjoys cooking, barbecuing at home and encouraging his two teenage kids in their athletic pursuits (lacrosse, field hockey and tennis).
Jim resides in Littleton where his favorite neighborhood event is the annual Bow Mar Pond Hockey Tournament.
According to a personality survey, he is more patient than 99%, enabling him to easily adjust to any client’s pace. Jim truly enjoys the journey as much as the destination!
His greatest inspiration? His father…who taught, “If you’re going to do something, do it right.”
He enjoys live music in small venues and has been known to explore the country’s landscape on a motorcycle.
The words Jim most often chooses to live by: Listen to your gut.
